The weatherin the Kingdom of
Thailandcan be very tropical, high
temperatureand humid. The season changes are caused by monsoons that make three distinct
climateseasons in northern Siam and 2 differing seasons in southerly Thailand. Monsoon in the southern areas approx May to Oct is rainy and many clouds, whereas in northeast monsoon approx November to Mar is bone-dry and comparatively cool.
A lot of people think
Koh Phanganis only a place for budget traveler or
party freaks and everything focused on the
Fullmoon Party at Haad Rin beach. But
Phangan is not so small and
Fullmoon is just a small isolated part of
Koh Phangan.
Situated about 12 miles north of Koh
Samuiin the Gulf of
Thailandis the
island of Koh Phangan. Being generally much more quieter and laid back than Samui, just with the exception of the
Full Moon party where around 5 - 10,000 visitors arrive for the infamous full moon party in Haad Rin Nok.
But, as this place has much to show the interested visitor than just being a crazy all night party island, the
island has also a tranquil part, having the great advantage of a resort with long walks, or yoga courses and different other possibilities.
A lot quite popular accommodations, like Cookies Saladgetting frequently running out of available rooms for the week of the Full MoonParty. Probably a good advice would be to arrange for a
bungalowsin advance. Koh
Phangan is approximately 2 1/2 hours away from Don Sak and about 45 minutes from Koh
SamuiIsland by ferry.
There are concrete roads to Haad Rin, but you have been warned that the concrete roads are not in the greatest condition and unless consider yourself a confident motorcycle rider then do not try to get to Had Rin, as nearly all accidents involving motorbikes happen in this area. Our advice is to leave your scooter at the seven eleven at Ban Tai and pay about 60 Baht for a taxi over the hills to HaadRin. Ko Phanganis a very relaxed place in south of of Thailand with the most amazing beachesfound in South Thailand.
Lodingin a afordable resort or
beachside hotel to very reasonable prices. You can find many great places on Koh Phangan. Had
RinNai, Had Kuat, Haad Tien and Thong Nai Pan are some of the most best visted ones.
Kohphanganis a small tropical island, surrounded by gentle sloping coral reefs and green clad mountain range towering above the beaches.
Mai Pen Rai is'nt only a phrase commonly heard on the island, Mai Pen Rai is also the name of a popular
bungalowresort here.
If you like to eat then Phangan offers you many different styles of restaurants, bars and cafes offering you Thai, International, Mexican, English and Mediterranean dishes, that suit everyone. And of course a huge selection of fresh seafood that is locally caught.
Simmilar to it's sister island Koh Tao, Phangan was a while ago initially found by hippies seeking a sanctuary from the commercialised Koh Samui and recently, Phangan has an amazing chooice of daytime activities, bars and clubs, bungalow
resortsand spas.
As a natural
paradise island in the Southern Gulf of Thailand, Ko Phanganserves as the unflawed getaway retreat.
The island consists of a tropical
paradiseinfringed with coconut palms and crystal clear turquoise waters.
